Under METS, Australia will every year give 3000 young professionals from India the option to work in Australia for a maximum of eight years without a visa. Apart from this, Indian students will be able to spend two years in Australia even without a visa sponsor.
The changes in visa rules announced by Australia in April have been implemented from July 1. The rules also take into account the bilateral agreement signed between India and Australia in May. Under this, under the Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-Professionals Scheme (METS), Indian students have been given the option to work in Australia for eight years without a visa.
Under METS, Australia will every year give 3000 young professionals from India the option to work in Australia for a maximum of eight years without a visa. Apart from this, Indian students will be able to spend two years in Australia even without a visa sponsor. METAS is actually a temporary visa program that encourages graduates from fields like engineering, mining, financial technology, artificial intelligence, information and communication technology, agricultural technology, renewable energy to work in Australia.
Maximum 48 hours work in 15 days:
Under the new visa rules, from July 1, all student visa holders will be able to work maximum 48 hours in 15 days. However, no such time limit has been imposed in elder care. The purpose of this rule is to make students serious about their education.
